I was only 14 when my grandmother took me to Guatemala — not for a vacation, but for something much deeper. We stayed with locals, learned the language, wandered through ancient Mayan temples, and snorkeled the world-famous Blue Hole. That trip opened my eyes to something I’d never understood before: travel isn’t just about where you go — it’s about how it changes you. It’s a privilege, and stepping into another culture is an honor that can stay with you forever.

Since then, I’ve traveled the world — to places both glamorous and gritty — always chasing that same sense of wonder. No matter where I find myself, I feel her presence beside me. Her curiosity, courage, and love of adventure have become my compass.
